Adult Classes

Is it for me?

Our Adult gymnastic class is a great place for those who have done gym in the past and want to get back to it, or those who have never tried gymnastics before. It provides a safe, challenging and supportive environment to learn new skills.

We recommend that those attempting this class should already have some degree of strength, flexibility and coordination – whilst fitness is developed, a reasonable base level of fitness is required to properly participate.

How does it work?

The class has a dedicated coach who help participants develop skills on floor, and also on other apparatus. There is a focus on tumbling and acrobatic skills and general strength and flexibility development, but any gymnastic elements can be worked towards and the class is not limited to use of the floor.

Classes currently run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7:00pm-8:00pm at our venue. A free trial lesson is available, after which classes are $14 per lesson and payable each visit.

Gymnasts must also be registered with the Club and Gymnastics Queensland in order to be covered by insurance – this is covered in your fees.

How do I join?

You can come along for a free trial lesson at any time – please contact the office if you wish to confirm that the class is running that week. When you arrive at the gym, wait in the seating area for the coach to come over, then join in! The coach will give you the necessary paperwork to enrol at the end of class if you’d like to come back.

Comfortable clothes that will not catch on the equipment are fine for Adult Gymnastics. T-shirt/singlet and shorts/track pants/leggings or a leotard are ideal. Please also ensure that you are appropriately attired for the types of activity to be undertaken – running, jumping, tumbling, being upside down, etc. Overly revealing tops are not acceptable. Hair should be tied back, and the wearing of jewellery is not permitted in the gym. Barefoot is best, and gymnasts should make sure they bring a drink bottle to each class.

If you would like to book a trial lesson, please contact the office on (07) 4972 0300.
